KKCPTR (ECE) Profile

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, KKCPTR, Puttur is presently headed by Sri.E.Mukunda.

Established in the year 2008 along with the college with an intake of 90 in its B.Tech Programme, besides an additional 20% under lateral entry scheme.

ECE has Experienced and Resourceful faculty. Most of the faculty members have PG Qualifications and are pursuing Ph.D’s.

The faculties are active in conducting research and publishing papers in National / International conferences and Journals. KKCT, Puttur has an ISTE Membership. The staff members are encouraged with financial support to participate in workshops, conferences, symposia, and refresher courses to keep in pace with recent developments in the field of Electronics & Communication Engineering.

The Students of our department actively participate in National-level Student Paper Contests being organized at IIT’s, NIT’s and various other Engineering Colleges. Some of them have also been awarded in these paper contests. Seminars, Guest Lectures and Expert Lectures are organized periodically for the benefit of students. As a part of the curriculum, Industrial visits are arranged for students of 3/4 (ECE) in the II semester regularly. ECE has a Student Association with the name of “ENCRATA”.

The Department has the state of the art laboratories which include:

  • Basic Simulation Lab.
  • Electronic Circuit Analysis Lab.
  • Electrical Engineering Lab.
  • Linear & Digital IC Applications Lab.
  • Pulse & Digital Circuits Lab.
  • Analog & Digital Communication Lab.
  • Microwave & Optical communications Lab.
  • Microprocessors & DSP Lab


The significant equipment in the laboratories includes Spectrum Analyzer, Digital Storage Oscilloscopes, FPGA Kits, 8086 and 8051 kits, etc. The Labs are also equipped with Software’s like MULTISIM, VHDL and Xilinx ISE Foundation. The Department also has audio-visual facilities with LCD projectors and OHP’s for effective teaching.

The Department is aiming at bringing out a technical conscious student Community and realizing the objectives of vision 2020.
